Hi, I’m Brittany Williams the owner of The Broke Black Chick. I’m a 25 year old college student studying finance. Currently living in Northeast Alabama.
I have always been a lover of all things fashion and beauty related, but when it came to actually being able to afford such things is where the problem arose. When I was 18 I met a girl in one of my classes that was always late (fashionably late of course) and eventually we became friends. I was fascinated at how well she dressed, but the thing I wanted to know was “how could she afford to dress so nice?” so I asked her and was shocked by the response.
She said “Brittany, you don’t have to have a lot of money to look like a million bucks.” She told me her secret was finding great deals at places like Forever 21 and the thrift store.
A light bulb went off in my head and I sprinted to the thrift store right after class. With my debit card in hand, I roamed in awe at all the nice clothes that I could actually afford. Calvin Klein, J. Crew, and Tommy Hilfiger just to name a few. Fast forward two years The Broke Black Chick was born.
The Broke Black Chick started back in 2012 as a way of expressing myself with like minded Individuals. It quickly grew into a blog for the everyday woman on a budget.
I also have other interests that I will be sharing as well such as Hair and Health. Here I’ll share with you how to get looks for less, monthly favorite, affordable beauty products, some tips and tricks, DIY’s, plus lifestyle tips such as how I lost over 50 pounds and kept it off.
Whether you’re looking for tips to be stylish on a budget, or inexpensive beauty products that work, thebrokeblackchick.com has you covered!
